It offers one-on-one, text-first chat with four original Tendera characters — Sophia, Mia, Elena, and Jade — every character shared publicly by the community, plus the ability to create custom characters of any gender (female, male, or non-binary). Each character has a unique personality, backstory, and conversational style. Tendera combines recent conversation context with structured facts to create continuity across sessions, while making no claim of perfect recall. Signed-in users can speak instead of type, and can play written replies from Sophia, Mia, Elena, and Jade on demand. On Web and iPhone, signed-in users can also share a photo in any conversation, and ask one of the four Tendera originals to create a character photo. Tendera offers a free account with 25 messages per day, voice input, 3 new original-character voices with saved replays, 2 total photo shares and 2 total generated character photos on Web and iPhone, all originals and public community characters, up to 5 custom characters, and memory for key details and recent conversations. The Premium plan costs $9.99 per month and includes unlimited messages, original-character voice for normal personal use, 20 shared photos each day on Web and iPhone, up to 60 generated character photos per membership period, up to 20 custom characters, deeper conversation continuity, and more room for detailed replies. New users can try 5 messages without creating an account. Premium is available through secure Web checkout and supported app stores. The same account, Premium status, and conversations work across Web and iPhone; Android testing uses the same account model but is not yet publicly available.

Technology

Tendera is built on Next.js 14 and deployed on Vercel with server-side rendering for fast load times. It uses large language models for conversation generation with a custom memory system that extracts and stores key facts, emotional states, and relationship milestones in structured JSON format. This memory is injected into each conversation to maintain continuity and personalization.
