Look for details that belong to that character: work, routines, interests, opinions, and a recognizable rhythm. Those details give you a person in the story to get to know.

Check What Memory Actually Does

For an ongoing AI relationship, continuity matters. Mention a detail you are comfortable sharing, then return to it in a later conversation. Does the companion connect it to the right context?

Memory systems have limits. They can omit a fact, summarize it incorrectly, or fail to bring it back when it matters. A useful product should explain what it stores and let you manage your conversation data. Be wary of promises that it remembers everything forever.
