Is It Safe to Use an AI Girlfriend App? What You Should Know

A browser option can spare you an app installation. Encrypted storage can help protect records. Neither one, by itself, answers every privacy question. The useful comparison is what a service collects, why it processes it, how it limits access and how you can delete it.

Start With the Data You Share

Companion conversations can become personal quickly. You can begin with a pseudonym, ordinary interests and fictional examples while deciding whether you like the character and trust the service.

Before sharing sensitive information, look for clear answers to these questions:

  • • Are messages stored, and for what purpose?
  • • Does the app derive longer-term memories from those messages?
  • • Which providers receive chat text, selected photos or voice input?
  • • Are conversations used for model training or advertising?
  • • What happens when you request deletion?

    • A privacy policy should answer these directly. A free plan, a paid subscription or an absence of ads is not proof of any particular data practice.

    Chat History and Memory Are Related, but Different

    A transcript keeps the words you exchanged. A memory system can also retain selected preferences, relationships, corrections or shared experiences so later conversations can continue naturally.

    That can make the product more useful: you do not have to introduce yourself from scratch each time. It also means you should understand how both the original messages and the information derived from them are handled.

    Check Service Providers and Access Controls

    Private conversation usually means other users cannot open your account's chats. The service still needs systems that store messages and process replies.

    Read which database, hosting and AI providers are involved. Check what the policy says about authorized access, security investigations and legal requests. Encryption and account access controls are useful protections; they are different from a promise that nobody operating the service can ever access information.

    For Tendera, our published policy identifies Supabase for database hosting and authentication, Vercel for hosting, and DeepSeek/OpenAI for supported AI features. The information processed depends on the features you choose to use. A text reply, a selected photo, a transcription request and generated reply audio involve different processing steps.

    Protect the Device, Too

    Your own device can reveal activity through an unlocked screen, browser history, saved sessions or notifications. Browser and app use each have controls worth checking.

  • • Lock your phone and computer when you leave them.
  • • Review notification previews on shared or visible screens.
  • • Avoid leaving a personal account signed in on a shared device.
  • • Use a unique password and a personal email account you control.
  • • Remember that private browsing does not delete server-side conversation records.

    • Tendera works in a browser without an installation, and iPhone and Android apps are available if you prefer them. Choose the access method and device settings that suit you. Closing a browser tab does not delete stored chats or longer-term memory.

    What Tendera Says About Data and Payments

  • • No sale of personal information. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Trusted providers process data to operate the service.
  • • No training on personal conversations. Tendera does not use personal chats to train or fine-tune AI models.
  • • Cookies and local storage have service purposes. They maintain authentication, sessions and preview tokens. The policy also describes usage analytics and security data; this is not a claim of zero data collection.
  • • Stored history supports continuity. Messages and selected memory information are associated with the account. Access is controlled; encryption is not a promise that records disappear when you close the app.
  • • Payments use the selected purchase channel. Web subscriptions use Waffo; app-store purchases use the relevant store. Tendera does not directly collect or store your card number or bank account details.
  • • Deletion is a separate request. Account access is disabled when deletion is requested. Personal data is scheduled for deletion after a seven-day safety period, with the policy explaining completion times and any required retention.

    • Account information depends on the sign-in method. The service can process details supplied by a social sign-in provider and usage information such as an IP-derived approximate location. Not asking you to fill in a location field does not mean no location-related information is processed.

    Check the Subscription Before Paying

    Look at the price, renewal period, cancellation route and any first-period offer in the checkout or store you use. A payment processor handling card details is different from a service retaining subscription records to provide membership access.
